Luan Port (Armada Resort) | Palauig, Zambales

... at first there was just a little girl back floating, then other kids swooped in by intervals until they outnumbered us, sleep-deprived and tipsy grown-ups.
It was around 1:00 PM when our friend's wedding party ended. From the reception venue in Masinloc, we've gone to spent the rest of the day at Magalawa Island, off the shores of the next town. It was a sleepy afternoon at Luan Port. Armada Resort's outrigger was supposed to fetch us the moment we got to the harbor, but no passenger boat was in sight until the next one and a half hour.
Boredom struck, urging us to start the beers we bought along the way which were supposedly for our night booze. The hush environs began to get alive from our hearty laughs, the pervasive beat of Hayaan Mo Sila from a handy radio, and the local kids playing in the waters — at first there was just a little girl back floating, then other kids swooped in by intervals until they outnumbered us, sleep-deprived and tipsy grown-ups.
A jump-off point for island visitors is a rendezvous and playground for these youngsters whose age dread the afternoon nap. This is a typical day in the life of these coastal kids. ▣
